Helicopter versus wind pictures!!!

Ladies and gents, a plea! Has any one got (and can let me have/download) pictures of helicopters which have been blown over whilst parked and also helicopters that have been covered in ice/snow whilst on the ground. Needed asap. Your help would be greatly appreciated!

In the throes of the QHI ground school are we? If so there are a shed load of icing pictures there. They've been around the block, but they're perfectly serviceable! I might have some that I could send you when I get back form one of the sandpits (approx 1 week).

Google the Sea King that got stuck in the Cairngorms last year. You should be able to get a few pictures of it.

...the craft was too heavily loaded. Suddenly it was in a downdraft on the northwest side of the mountain; the engine could not pull up, and the helicopter crash-landed.

It landed upright, and some time later the airframe was blown over.

I wish I had the newspaper photo from the Orange County Register from the late 1980s... 2 CH-53Es were on the apron at MCAS El Toro, and were not properly tied down.

That night, the Santa Ana winds reached over 80 mph... and in the morning there were 2 very large helos resting their rotor hubs.

Both were declared "total loss", and were the first CH-53Es given to museums.


note: the CH-53Es were based at MCAS(H) Tustin (CH-46E/F, CH-53A/D, & CH-53E)... which was ~5 miles from MCAS El Toro (F/A-18, A-6E, A-4M, F-4S, RF-4B, & KC-130R).

I can't remember why they were at El Toro, but it may be that the winds started coming up while they were flying back from Camp Pendleton, and they landed at El Toro as the first safe field.

The tied down chinook allowed to develop ground resonance until it rips the gearbox out of the pylon is an eye opener, as is the puma that loses his tail rotor..... I just hope the limbo dancing soldier was ok as were the rest.....
