I find it absolutely incredible that someone would plonk down many thousands of greenbacks to get a helicopter license with no idea or plan on what to do once said license is in their grubby little hand.

Ferny300,

how many hours do you have and on what Aircraft type ?

PM your details if you want to keep it private...
I've spoken to all operators in the UAE about jobs.
I can pass on details for you.

cheers,
jetflite

The way I read it he didn't have his CPL yet, so chances are hours and aircraft types are few. But good luck to him anyway.

F300, after casual observation of your posts above, might I suggest you get a native English speaker to proof read your CV before you send it out to prospective employers. Without any experience or many contacts on your side, a well composed, spell checked and gramatically correct CV will be helpful :ok:

PM's cleared................. fire away....

Ferny: If you want a job in Dubai don't worry about PISTON's..
the only R44 in UAE (to my knowledge) is near Abu Dhabi at a local Aero Club.

Horizon Flight Academy do training for CPL & PPL Pilots... they only use B206's.

They don't play around with pistons...they use M/E turbines even for Joyflights..

Well actually, Horizon are now using R44s as well as the B206 and Aerogulf do joyflights in Jetrangers and Longrangers

When did Horizon Get 44's ?
DO they only use it for training ?

There are still plenty of companies that use a Single Turbine for various work....but they still use M/E in charter op's a **** load more than most other countries.

Especially here in Oz... You don't get too many A109's, B412's etc doing Scenic flights..

:rolleyes:Horizon got the R44's nearly a year ago, but they have unreal rates for training with them, asked them already a while ago and they prices were too way expensive for a R44, guess they don't care about the self-sponsor people.

thanks for the tips guys.

Just to put the costing of aircraft rates out there...
a bell 206 in Dubai cost approx. $2'200 per hour.....charter.

Not cheap.

Evergreen international - www.evergreenaviation.com
They have operations in UAE. Need a lot of hours.

Action Aviation - www.actionaviation.com (AIRCRAFT SALES)

Eastern Sky Jets - www.easternskyjets.com (Fixed-wing)

UniJet are fixed-wing.....

Anyone know of any good leads for VFR jobs in either the UAE or Asia or if they even exist.

Thanks

Depends what you are looking for? Utility i.e. longline or offshore (VFR ops) but IF rating required (ATPL an asset).

Most offshore gigs ask for at least an IF even though it is mainly a VFR operation. The utility gigs are of short term nature…the ones in South East Asia mainly depend on the goodwill of the ministries of environment. They issue permissions to cut down trees, etc… If the permit is delayed, then you will sit on your bum scratching buggers, until that moment where the operator loses interest, money, and finally withdraws from it.

Just my two cents worth of input.

Hi All

Anyone got any info (reliable) as to what the current commander and co-pilot salaries and perks are in the UAE?

Any info would be appreciated :ok:

Hi.
I am a retired military helicopter pilot from Russia( also hold CPL)
1. Can I work for UAE government or they employ only the locals?
2. In general, what are the basic requirements to work as a helicopter pilot in UAE? Both military and civil.

What documents do I need to bring with me to apply for a job?
I am really a bit lost and any directions will be much appreciated !
Cheers!
