Hello Everyone,

I am a new pilot coming up on my 1,000 hours. I am a CF11 with instrument training and have been instructing for the last year.

I keep hearing that helicopter pilots are in demand but I really haven't seen any jobs posted anywhere here in the states. Is there a website or some course of action I should be taking to find a job? Are we really in a shortage of pilots, because it sure doesn't seem that way?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

So the instructing you've been doing for the past year is not a job?

Or you just want a different job?

Welcome to PPRuNe,

Is there a shortage of pilots (ie licence holders)? No. Is there a shortage of experienced pilots? Generally, yes.

re job ads. Try these 3 sites. They seem quite good for jobs in the USA:

www.verticalreference.com/helicopterclassifieds/showcat.php?cat=3 (http://www.verticalreference.com/helicopterclassifieds/showcat.php?cat=3)

/employment/pilotjoblisting.asp?iChannel=10000 (http://www.justhelicopters.com/employment/pilotjoblisting.asp?iChannel=10000)

Welcome Flys4fun its all about the experience level and personal circumstances, ie are you able to up sticks and move location for the right job ? as there are always vacancies somewhere for the right person with the right hours, but not always necessarily where you want it! but thats life. Good luck in your searching :ok:
