Well fair questions. I understood the ban was over. Who the hell are IFALPA? and why should I be worried if they choose to be in dispute with their employers....have CX done something awful I should know about?

SeatUser, here's part of an email I received from John Findlay a few days ago. It should make things clear for you.



We've just started talks, as you've heard, but they are in early stages yet and I cannot tell how long they will go on for. We have suspended all industrial action but not the recruitment ban. That won't be lifted until we have a deal.

However, there's no problem with your applying to Cathay nor to your going to interview. CX is still interviewing but those found suitable are being pooled as, at present, they are not recruiting beyond the few starters who are coming over the next 2 or 3 months.

Well I reckon that if a guy wants a job he should go for it but be aware that others may have been p***ed off in the past and that he may be too. Now is not the time to be choosy about jobs. Oh and I agree who are IFALPA I'm in BALPA!!

Would the job be for an FO position on the 747-400 or 200? Does the cargo operation use only 400s? Which base are you looking at?
