From the media section of the Essex Fire & Rescue website...

Crews are trying to reach a pilot, trapped in his plane after his light aircraft came down in marshland near Tollesbury. The pilot is in radio contact with an RAF distress helicopter and a police helicopter team - he is alive but injured.
At 18:59 hrs, crews reported they were trailing a police helicopter to locate the aircraft to assist in the pilot's rescue. Police, ambulance paramedics are on the scene.
The incident was dealt with by 19:32 hrs. DO Justin Johnston, the officer in charge of the incident, said: "This was a small two seater plane, carrying just the pilot. He crash landed nose down and the plane tipped up on the uneven surface of the marshes, trapping him inside.
"It was difficult gaining access to the plane as it was stranded right out on the marshes - fortunately the ground was dry and we were able to get an appliance out to the plane.
"Crews tipped the plane to allow the pilot to climb out. He appeared uninjured and was checked over by a doctor who had been flown to the scene by a police helicopter team."
Air accident investigators have been notified of the incident and are on their way to the scene to check the plane and the cirumstances of the incident.
We have no further information relating to this incident or details of the pilot.
