View Full Version : CRJ Captain pay in Europe bigbeerbelly 16th Mar 2002, 07:25 Just curious how the payscales compare in Europe to the US regionals?. .4th year CRJ CA $60/hour DeeTee 8th Apr 2002, 11:16 Hmmn. Well without being too specific as an FO I'm on about £37k p/a. woring 625 hours pa gives around $90 per hour. Skippers are getting £50k+ same working hours so that's about $130 p/h. 2 sector days, occasionally 3. all very civilised really. Also now flying both the CRJ200 and 700. 700 is far nicer. regards Hand Solo 8th Apr 2002, 23:55 Hey thats more than me and I'm sitting on that big thing on the next stand!:p Any news of the problems in AMS this weekend? I heard there were fisticuffs involved!! bigbeerbelly 13th Apr 2002, 14:29 I guess from DeeTee's post, salaries are calculated differently in the UK. I was curious what the contractual hourly pay rate was, but annual works too-thanks. If I went by annual, the pay rates seem almost identical; however, I am sure your benefits (retirement, etc) are far superior. BBB PS Can't wait until we get the 700s Alpine Flyer 14th Apr 2002, 00:36 at Tyrolean Airways (flying the CRJ-200 only): First year captain 4800 EUR 12 year captain 5800 EUR per diems of around 15 EUR for an 8 hour work day and around 30 EUR for 12 hour or more work day. valid for 75 hours flight time or 166:40 hours duty time per month. less flying means the same pay more flying or more duty time means overtime flight time overtime is linear, duty time overtime is factored 1,5 no flight time credit given for anything but flying, sickness and vacation. mostly 2 to 4 sector days, up to 6 sectors on some bases. 116 days off per year, 25 days vacation Chances to join as a direct entry captain on the CRJ are rather slim, though. (pay rate applies to all Tyrolean Captains, 2002 pay is reduced about 8% to cope with 9/11 and a cash-strapped mother.) Better conditions are available at Lauda Air. zapo 14th Apr 2002, 20:42 Does anyone know how much a Emb145 Capt gets paid in Portugalia airlines? zapo. SEE AR JAY 18th Apr 2002, 22:11 Scuse me for being more or less confidential, but here are the facts for my airline, not to be mentioned by name. First year F/O CRJ: approx 3850/month First Year Captain CRJ: approx 6220/month 4th Year CPT: approx 6920/month 105 hrs dutytime a month. Every extra hour brings 1/100 of monthly basic pay, so 39 for 1st year FO's, 62 for Captains. From 115 and 130 special hourly rates apply (1/90 resp. 1/80, I believe) Brings a minimum annual pay for 4 yr CPT to around 90000 including 13th month No ready entry captain vacancies. Cheerio Denti 19th Apr 2002, 11:54 Hi See Ar Jay, you don't need to name the company, we all know which one it is :p Are these the new figures after your pay-rise? Looks very good to me, i'm earning a lot less on the boeing i'm flying right know. Just one question, is there any other airline which pays duty time and not block hours? Denti bigbeerbelly 19th Apr 2002, 14:10 Thanks for the excellent info, gents. How about retirement packages? All we have right now is a 401K plan with a very lousy company match. (you put 5% in to an investment fund and the company will match 2.5%) Of course, through ALPA negotiations, eventually we hope to get a full pension program (ie 40% of your pay) A more exact description of the CRJ pay scale here in the US is: 75 hour monthly guarantee. Anything flown outside of schedule goes above guarantee. minimum scheduled days off = 11. max duty day = 14 hours scheduled, can actually go to 15. Perdiem = $1.60/hour (increases $0.05 per year) Pay scale for CRJ CA: 4th year=$60.79/hour 5th year=$64.86/hour 6th year=$66.86/hour 7th year=$71.69/hour 8th year=$73.91/hour 9th year=$76.19/hour 10th year=$78.55/hour 11th year=$80.98/hour . . . 18th year=$100/hour On average a 4th year CA brings home (before tax) ca $6000/month Alpa negotiations are coming in 2004. Expect to get a raise to about $100/hour at year 12 and hopefully a pension plan. General improvement in work rules too. Cheers! 733driver 22nd Apr 2002, 12:37 Hi everyone, I would just like to put the figures given by See Ar Jay into perspective: This is a very good salary given the category of aircraft flown. According to our ALPA it΄s the highest salary in the entire 50-70 seat industry worldwide. At least now we all know what we should or could be getting these days. Just like Denti and many other pilots in my country I also fly a larger aircraft for considerably less money. We are working on that one, though;) |
