Just back from STN (where one of my travelling companions tried to chat up the passport checking woman and then quizzed the plod about their laser gunsights - the man knows no fear). I noticed, as we chuntered into the gate, that one of the Ryanairs parked alongside had "Bye Bye EasyJet" written on the side (in Easy's font too).

Is there a story behind this, or is it just a bit of O'Learyesque bravado?

Several of Ryanair's aircraft have the "bye bye" logo (some in foreign language) which target other airlines too.

Other aircraft have similar logos with Lufthansa, LOT, Baby etc.

"Arrivederci Alitalia" is an other one. Although I might have spelled "arrivederci" incorrectly, I'm not Italian!

I think they also did something like "Say no to BA fuel surcharge" or something like that a while back. Around the time Virgin (I think) protested about Heathrow slots with "No Way BA/AA" on some of theirs.
Disappointingly BA never responded by painting a couple of aircraft up with "**** The Lot Of You":E

s'alright, the way Ryanair have apparently treated some of their maintenance providers over the years, I'm kinda surprised there aren't a lot of hangars with 'bye bye Ryanair 'emblazoned on them!
