Just happening to be in London on Sunday afternoon, I went along to check out Antony Gormley's Blind Light, less for the cultural experience and more for the chance at a bit of IMC with my feet on the ground. Actually I wasn't completely sure my feet were on the ground because I couldn't see them. I could only just see the shadow of my outstretched hand.

Interesting, perhaps nearly worth the eight quid to get in, but don't bother unless you happen to be passing by already.

IMC it may be, but your gravitational reference doesn't change so it really is a lot less disorienting than flying in IMC.

Oh well, I have now had my dose of culture for 2007.

FWIW.

That was my first thought when I went into that chamber too - just like flying in cloud.

Anyone who does want to go needs to be quick - the Gormley show (http://www.southbankcentre.co.uk/gormley/text/index.html) closes on August 19th.
