Besides the charts found in the AIP available online. Anyone know where i can find information on the specifics of a STAR routing? (Why a certain heading, height restriction, etc.) Or anyone here in the know can help me out? :)

Click here (http://www.caas.gov.sg/caasWeb/export/sites/caas/en/Regulations_And_Guidelines/Rules_and_Regulations/ATS/AIP/enroute/enr5/ENR5.1.pdf).

Go to page 6 of 7 and page 7 of 7.

Then look at the STARS and superimpose them on the danger / restricted areas.

Notice how they mostly avoid the danger / restricted areas.

hmmmm, lets say for the restriction at BTM is 7000 ft or above. I know that because under this altitude is batams airspace but there is also a restriction of MAX IAS 250 kt. Any ideas what is the spd restriction for?
