Totaling a investment of 3.200 million dollars, the company will get the new jets by 2011 and finishing the delivery in the 2016.
The whole option incluides 32 airplanes, and 10 more options for planes starting the delivery by 2017 and 2018.
This is the biggest acquisition that the company has ever achieved, the jets will be distributed all over the LAN network.

Company email confirms news of LAN's intention to purchase 787 Dreamliners.
Extract from Boeing website:
"Boeing's Statement on LAN Airlines' 787 Dreamliner Announcement
SEATTLE, July 12, 2007 -- The Boeing Company [NYSE: BA] is pleased that LAN Airlines, South America's largest airline, has announced its intent to acquire 26 Boeing 787 Dreamliner (http://www.boeing.com/commercial/787family/index.html)s. Successful conclusion of negotiations would result in LAN booking the largest order of 787s to date in Latin America."
Lets see how things turn out though it seems LAN intends to replace the 763s and probably the 343s with this revolutionary aircraft.
