After being in Hospital for a week, after a helicopter accident in Gaborone, Botswana, Pat passed away on the afternoon of the 29th of January due to complications and burn injuries.. .Pat was an experienced fixed wing pilot and was just beginning a new career in rotary flying.

You'll be sadly missed Pat, Rest in Peace.

The aircraft was a Schweizer 333, only one in Africa as far as I am aware, and the official investigation is still underway. Suffice to say that he had a fire on board just after take-off and had to do an emergency landing. Chopper turned over and burst in to flames.

Rest well mate, we will miss you!

To Pats friends over there from those of us over here,

We are truly shocked at our good mates death, he will be missed even though we only heard from him once in a while....we enjoyed his adventures.

Is any one able to fill us in on more details as to Pats funeral in Warnambool ?. .RIP Patty

A man who lived life to the full. I heard of this this morning and am still in shock. A dear friend, one of natures gentlemen. Will drink the bottle of Drambuie you left at my house last time you were in Oz, will whack on the video of my engagement and celebrate the times I spent partying with you. Rest in Peace Shaggs, you will be sorely missed. Condolences to the Prendergast family. PS, may even have a rum and milk for you even though I still don't get the taste.

Vale Pat,

My condolences to the Prendergast's - the big fellah had covered some miles since the early days at Coffs...

The phrase rhymes with 'clucking bell'...

I picked up a big Aussie chap in Kandahar, Afghanistan one day. He had blown a motor on a Botswana reg Cessna 402. Gave him a lift to Peshawar, Pakistan. Said his name was Pat and I'm sure his surname was Predergast.

If so, yet another sad loss for the aviation business.

RIP
