Hi guys, this appears to be the forum to ask so here goes...

Im 18 years old and have just completed my ppl and was sponsored for the first half by the RAF, and I've also just completed my A-Levels.

I'm enquiring about how to get involved:- What are the chances? Is any of the flying with light aircraft, how desperate are they for pilots Etc...

Also, if that isn't a possible route, any info about helping in the operational support side of thngs.

Or just any info of the sort

Cheers guys

G'day Nick,

There is work out there for you, but you have to want it. Nothing will get handed to you in Africa.

You need a CPL and a plane ticket to Maun, Botswana or a place like it. Then you need to hang out with the pilots and the other 200hr wanna be's and be a good bloke and not a rat bag nor a whinger, and drink more alcohol than you thought existed. Then you might get a job. Then it gets hard from there... but it can be rewarding and lots of fun.

If flying airplanes is what you want to do, don't settle for second best- go do it.
