Worker killed in airport raid

A LUFTHANSA airlines employee was shot dead yesterday during a robbery attempt on a van transporting cash at Johannesburg Airport.

The employee was loading cash at a cargo depot when three men tried to hijack the van. However the raid went wrong and they panicked and fled, firing a shot that hit the man in the back. - AP

What the hell is going on here??
Is this not the second recent penetration of Smuts (sorry Jbg Int) by armed persons??
So much for higher security.
2 month ago I had to deliver an aircraft spare part to the Freight Apron. I was in pilot uniform, but had my Lansaria Badge instead of my Smuts ID. I could not even get someone to escort me onto the apron (the aircraft was parked 80 mtrs from the security gate)
Fair enough - I thought - they are doing their job in a correct fashion.
But as per usual in RSA we see that security
is now only for the law abiding public. The real criminal by passes the system.
Its like those damn double doors in all the banks. How come the robbers are STILL getting into the banking halls??
