Having fallen foul 9 months ago trying to bring back a bottle of Malt from DAM duty free and having it taken off me before my connecting flight at CDG to BHX, I would love to know what u can now bring into the UK these days. I have heard everything from normal amounts to no liqueur or perfumes.

Any info would be useful

Thanks!!

You say that you had a bottle of whiskey "taken off" you. Duty free is not taken off you, if it is more than the allowance you pay tax on it.

Do you mean 'duty free' or 'hand luggage'?

Last September whilst in transit at CDG on my way to BHX I had a bottle of malt taken off me which I bought at the duty free shop in Damascus. No one at the time advised passengers on the AF flight about liqueur restrictions on flights to the UK. If they did then I wouldn't have bought it and wasted my money!! Nothing to to do with excess handbaggage!!

Thats nothing to do with Duty Free restrictions, thats the no liquids rule in transits.
