I'm interested in hearing what other Pilots have their career sights set on.
It seems in Fixed-wing world, 98% of pilots aim for Airlines and do a MECIR as part of their initial licence or Flight Instructor.

Rotary guys/gals... have varied goals, as not all work is IFR.
I haven't heard of anyone paying for a Multi-Engine IF Rating,
and you can't (australia) get your instructors rating until you have 360 hours.

What are your goals and what job are you aiming to get at?
OR
If your already there, are you happy/proud? and how did you get there?

:ok:

I am quite chuffed with my current Job all that I want in order to make it perfect for now is to get my IR revalidated on type.

I am to happy at the moment to think about anything in the future except for owning my own Helicopter so I can go traveling in it.:ok:

Career sights?
To continue earning a decent salary for offering a safe and efficient service, until I can think about not having to be bothered to get up early in the mornings.

In UK an increasing amount of IFR work is being required. It's a big step to get IR qualified but a few younger folk are very glad they did so.

Unlike the previous poster, I have absolutely no desire to own my own helicopter; these days I don't fly at all in my spare time.

Current job is good fun and pays well, however I have always fancy working in Canada, seems very challenging in some of the environments they fly in.

I have age on my side though and am in no rush to move.

Always at the top of my list in flying is to not die whilst doing it!:ok:
