Then again you can tell to mind my own beeswax.

Typically EC can build one of these things in a week or less. Completion P & I can take (as we see in this case) 4 months.

Its a bit like a Porsche, buy it drive it for a year, sell it for a profit!

There are a few aircraft like that out there. EC130 EC135 demand seriously exceeds supply!

In helicopter savvy NZ there are customers on their 3rd or 4th B4/B3 doing exactly the above. :8

MADY : Yes the WPS EC130 was my 'old' machine. I've been given a direction that the aircraft is not to run out of warranty prior to delivery of the next one. In fact I need to order the next one very soon as there is currently a 3 year wait for a new EC130.

Brilliant stuff : Not hiring a new one, except for the odd job here and there. I am currently flying a Bobcat at one of our vineyards whilst our new 130 is assembled! As for making the most of married life I'll leave that up to your imagination!

Is the paint being done by Jacko the bus painter on the Sunshine coast?
Looks a lot like the scheme he and Rob did on Mick Doohan's B3 five years ago.
One of the best and most subtle paint jobs i ever saw. Only blemish was a bubble in the fibreglass on the nose. I believe they wanted to fix it but EC said 'she'll be right'. - Just a rumour by the way!

My jaw dropped i love watcing these come in, so sliky smooth, kinda reminds me of the excitment when i saw my first S76, good helicopters are rare here so Im sure the new bird will collect many admires peeking through wire fences...

Where is the assembly taking place? It looks like a kit helicopter with all those pieces and the trim from inside... I guess new means it can be set up to suit from word go. Im keen to see it finished and with the interior, i do Motor Trimming would have loved the chance to do a helicoper... :oh: Good Luck, all the best

Doin time - Trust me, it looks better in the flesh, there's actually a blue pearl in the black which shows up nicely in the sun. The idea that I sold to the boss is the ability to adapt the side of the aircraft to suit the occasion, as we own a V8 Supercar team here in Aus and also a Champ Car team in the US these we can apply some decals to suit the event.

http://i112.photobucket.com/albums/n197/danodwyer/EC130/130withlogos.jpg

As you can see in the previous photos we also had a lot of the screws polished which break the black up a bit.

Scrumpyluvver - I'm sure it will get a little warm but then a few minutes with the a/c on fixes that. Our last one had a lot of black on it and it was fine with the a/c on.

Floppy Link - I got the exhaust tip polished which should turn a nice golden colour once we fire it up.

Gday capt do you know the an estimate on the DOC of the 130 plus whats max average air speed 1up full fuel with the star flex limitation cheers:ok:

Capt Hollywood
15th Dec 2007, 06:38
stacey_s : It's just a lot of work to get the approvals etc to have all the gear installed. I don't believe the Sagem screen is approved for the EC130 yet so there's an issue there.

Hooloovoo : I don't think he pulled it down, just held it to stop it flapping around.

corella killer : I believe the DOC's for the 130 are approx US$800/hr. I plan my flights at 120 knots and have found this to be a good average, that's pulling around 8.5 on the FLI. I've found that to be the best power setting for a smooth ride, it's gets a bit of 3/per shudder up if you pull MCP all the time. On my longer cross country flights I'll often take it up around 10,000', this gets the fuel burn down from 220L/hr at sea level to around 160L/hr, obviously this makes a big difference giving you an extra 30-40mins in the tank. With regard to the Starflex limitation, our last 130 was completely different to this one. With only myself on board I couldn't pull much more than 7.5 on the FLI without the 'LIMIT' light coming on, in our new 130 it isn't an issue at all. I have some extra avionics in this one so there's a bit more weight in the front which helps with the limit issue.

B3(available mid next month) is a 2000 model with 2100 hours and Turbomeca report on engine. We can replace the bevel reduction and other close to due components or you can take her as is. Dependant on option we are looking at about 1.4-1.5 mil Euro. Interior will be semi-executive with dark grey finish swade seats or a variety of utility options.

Not a silly question at all, someone made us an offer we couldn't refuse. Actually I could have refused it quite easily but it wasn't my decision. I haven't been flying anything since :(

Hollywood, Have you seen a new 130 around the east coast...blue with silver swoosh style markings. Used to be ours but found a new home down under. It has squirrel cheeks (that i am sure you have never seen before!!) We are wondering if it is in the air yet?

Can't say that I've seen it.... Mind you the east coast is pretty big! Any idea where on the coast it went?

Thanks C.H. Well if you keep building such fine helicopters no wonder people want to buy them off you.

Good luck with your search.
