I have to make a choice between CX and another career and frankly the pay is my only concern in order to pick one.

I would suggest that you make your desicion based on CURRENT pay and conditions. There is a chance we will get a pay rise as "market forces" are putting pressure on the conditions of service here. However there is also extreme pressure from mngmt to get more productivity out of us, so there is no guarentee we will come out ahead.
Look closely at what you are comparing as well.
