Interesting concept. Could it augment the MRA4 fleet?

Of course it could ORAC, and what a great asset it would be too.

Which is precisely why it won't happen here.

Our Lords and Masters are unable to see beyond the wonder whizz jet. They appear not to understand what a valuable, force multiplying, multi mission platform, the MR2 is and the MRA4 could become - if they did, we'd have a few more of them.

In any case. I fear for the future of all the 'big ticket' defence projects once Brown's coronation is over and we have the inevitable 'Review'

We can but dream of what might have been. :)

On a related subject - information on the Raytheon-Boeing Littoral Surveillance Radar System (LSRS) to be fitted to the MMA, and speculation as to it's possible use as a supplement (replacement for?) JSTARS.

"valuable, force multiplying, multi mission"? You must be talking about the wonderful Typhoon or the Lightning Mk2 as British WasteofSpace call it. Now that is a truly flexible and worthwhile bit of kit......As long as all you want to do is go fast and make noise at air shows but only if the total flying time is less than about 40 mins or we will have to request tanker support!
