Just wondering what kind of time Cathay prefers....would it be better if i had 700 PIC from instructing and then the rest of my time (say 2000) as an RJ FO?...Do they want more PIC? I guess im asking for the requirements for the SO program. Do they care if you have a bunch of Turbine FO time or do they want PIC turbine? Thanks.

Graduate ETPS and Topgun in same year
Job Description: Sit for long periods of time sitting next to someone who is absolutely full of sh!t and feign interest in their legendary tales from yesteryear. :ok:

Basically they want you to be a rocket scientist and in return will give you a job designing paper aeroplanes.

I don't know if I am full of ****. Please tell me if you fly with me next time. But I have no "legendary tales" to tell anyone.

1. You have to be able to fly a jet.

2. You have to be able to fly on instruments.

3. You have to be trainable.

4. You have to be able to fit into the CX culture.

What is this Cx Culture I keep hearing so much about?? How is it different from all the other corporate cultures (some can arguably be called cults!) like BA, SWA etc? And just how do they determine that you have all it takes to fit in?

Cathay Culture:

1) All your flying experience to date is irrelevant.

2) You are about to be trained by the best trainers in the world.

3) Ask questions and it will cost you.

4) You will be treated like a trainee until you have four bars.

5) Until you have four bars you know nothing

6) When you have four bars you know everything

7) You are not worthy to fly in low viz or in crosswind.

8) It is the FO's fault.

9) You are not worthy of a room in the new wing at the Rama Garden.

Basically the Cathay culture is to treat you like sh!t.

I hope this clears up your question.
