In January 1982 the mighty IX(Bomber) Squadron took delivery of its first Tornado GR, marking the type's entry into operational service. To celebrate the aircraft's silver jubilee, RAF Marham will be hosting a Friends and Families' Day on Thursday, 26 July. This will be open to all serving and retired aircrew and groundcrew who have flown or maintained the aircraft at some period in its RAF career and the invite extends to their immediate families. The event will include a flying and static display with an evening party. Entry will be by invitation only and will be free of charge, although any donations and all profits from the day will go to charity.

For more information and to apply for an invitation, check out the RAF Marham website at http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafmarham/events/famday2007.cfm (http://www.raf.mod.uk/rafmarham/events/famday2007.cfm)
