Sorry to bother you guys, but around 9.15 heard (and saw-in the distance) what looked like a Chinook at really low level skimming hedges in West Hoathly, Sussex, about 10miles from LGW..anyone know why ??? Thanks chaps...

Disagree..its' fairly uncommon to find a large mil heli mucking about in a sleepy village...if it happened every day I'd not bother asking....

Awww don't take it personally - just that we could be here all day if we chased and tracked every helicopter!!

Clearly not a lot if Madame No Longer ATC has to wind you all up by starting two separate threads on passing Chinooks ....:)

Sorry, NLA, I just couldn't resist, not least since I have just returned from visiting my sister in Danehill, and didn't see a thing! By the way, you will be lucky to avoid a rollocking from Samuraimatt for encouraging "those in the know" to contravene the Official Secrets Act!
