All,

Has the age limit for captains in SIN been raised from 60 to 65 yet?

Last I heard was that it was still sixty on the PAX fleet but it may be raised above sixty on the CARGO fleet.

Last I heard it had not changed. They are appartently bogged down in negotiations over the pay scale for the A380 right now. I did hear it rumoured that if they do go to over 60 there would be a paycut involved!

The CAAS has followed the ICAO change and raised the age to 65. HOWEVER, SIA has proposed 62 with a 10% pay cut for those pilots who took "advantage" of that. ALPAS' position was 62 with no cuts. The last I heard was the Company no thanks and will keep the age at 60 for the time being.

One problem is there is a short term surplus of crews. And of course everyone knows that is going to last?????:ugh:

Enlightened management at it's best!!

There are 2 (maybe more now) ex-mainline guys who are flying with SQC with the paycut now. I guess SQ is betting that as more numbers retire, some will accept the pay cut and fly beyond 60.
