Hi everyone,
I'm scheduled to attend AW139 school in north Italy this summer, and was hoping someone could recommend some good hotels, bars, etc. I'm looking for a place close to, preferably within walking distance, to some nightlife, attractions, etc, as well as public transport.
Also, is it fairly easy and reasonable to take a train to some of the surrounding countries?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Have to admit that 3RE is the best place to stay in Sesto Calende but it is a pretty dull village. If I went back there I would go over the lake to Arona where all the nightclubs, bars and restaurants also check out the McDonalds in Arona... serves beer there too!! A lot of factory outlet shops in Arona so there is no need to travel to Milan for the Italian shoes. Do yourself a favour though and rent a car when you get to Malpensa Airport as taxis and public transport is not that good around Sesto.

Thanks for the info guys.
Looks like I'm going in June now. I'm hoping to make a nice vacation out of it.

There are also furnished self contained apartments in Gallarate that Agusta use. They are on via San Rocco. Central to the four Agusta facilities in the area, and there are good restaurants, bars, and nightclubs in the town.
The drive to Sexto would be 15 min, Vergiate 10 min, Somma 10 Min, Cascina 10 min. Not sure what the prices for the apartments are though, but they are very nice.

You are all lucky bastards!! I got the course from our company instructor at Den Helder Airport:{ . The course was OK, but no nightclubs, no restaurants, nothing whatsoever, only the coocking of my very own wife. OK, OK, she cooks very well:D
But, in the end, I enjoy working on our Italian "Power Babies" a lot. Maybe a recurrent training in Italy, because our instructor has the flue?? Who has those pills?
Guys, enjoy your stay! 139 rulez!!
