 To all you performance experts out there:
Is it required to consider the above when starting an approach when ALL engines are running?
I realize it has to be considered at the dispatch stage, MTOW/MLW, but does it have any implications on an operational level when you are not dealing with an actual engine out condition?
Thanks for your input,

PANS-OPS instrument procedures require the publication of an OCA/H which protects a 2.5% missed aproach gradient, and may provide other gradients up to 5% when an operational benefit (lower OCA/H) is possible. It is the operator's responsibility to make the appropriate calculaltions and obtain the necessary approvals. That said, a lot of States do not bother to provide the lower OCA/H / higher missed approach gradient information, even when there is a considerable benefit. Unfortunately it is a chicken and egg situation - most operators know nothing about PANS-OPS and only the procedure designer knows whether the procedure is constrained by a missed aproach obstacle. So nobody asks for the benefit and nobody tells anyone it exists.

Remember that PANS-OPS deals only with normal operations, engine out is a non-normal operation and has to be covered by the operator's contingency procedures. In this, your perforance engineer may be your best friend.

TERPS is completely different - no options, just try to just do what it says!
