Chaps and Chapesses,

Wonder if you can help or point me in the right direction. I am trying to get a front cover picture for a helicopter magazine which is launching at the Paris Air Show.

The ideal picture would be a helicopter air-to-air over or in front of a prominent Paris landmark, Eifel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, that sort of thing. Is anyone aware if its possible or indeed anyone who might be able to help with this sort of venture...or am I going to be :ugh:

Hope you can help.

You need to look for Photograph Libraries or Photo Agents. Phone other magazines, ask them for contacts to aviation photographers. How much do people pay these days for a "single rights" cover shot? Could be a nice little earner for some of the guys on this forum.

Just go to any good stock photo agency and search for "paris helicopter"

Yes, you will have to pay the photo agency for a license to use the photograph.

Having almost stopped my pacemaker with the piccy of a nudish Paris ... I thought I should mention the picture of late and great John Crewdson and his good lady Gill. A classic 'film' shot of the Eiffel Tower from the cockpit of John's Widgeon. Gill has her palms extended cupping the tower.

There's a super copy adorning the wall of the 'Aviator' hotel at Sywell.

Good wishes to all out there.

Further to my post on the 'Paris and Eiffel Tower' shot of John Crewdson & his good lady wife Gillian ...

I have to correct an error as my goood friend Nick Crewdson tells me the lady in the picture was NOT the one-time film stunt lady and model, Gill Crewdson. Apparently the pictures was taken in the late 1940's ... So sorry Gill !

Nick tells me the photo was one of a series taken by Norman Parkinson for the Time/Life magazines. The lady in the Widgeon cockpit was one of the models selected for the shoot. The poster is still in Sywell's Aviator Hotel though.

Not a whole bag of beans I know ... but one likes to get things right !

Best wishes to all,

Dennis K

Because otherwise, it would get wet.
