I have just booked a day trip to Cologne in June. We will be flying from STN with Germanwings and will have around 7 hours in the city. When we arrive back to check in for our return flight around 17.00/17.30 what is CGN like to spend a few hours. I have been to Cologne many times before but have never flown through the airport. We will be departing from Terminal 1, Gate C according to the website. How close are the terminals to eachother if we want to have a walk around?

Thanks

Spent last Saturday morning there - first visit and fairly impressed.

All terminals appear to be connected - couple of coffee shops, Burger King & a 'private' shop (!!) landside. A few coffee bars and the usual duty free & newsagents airside.

In all not that exciting but a clean and comfortable way to spend a couple of hours.

Not the most entertaining of airports. Got the usual cafes, bars & shops. You need to take out a second mortgage to purchase anything from any of them. We've got LCCs (Low Cost Carriers), what we need now are LCAs (LOW COST AIRPORTS) which provide services at an affordable price!
