It has been reported on BBC Guernsey that security measures in the UK are to be increased as from 1st May 2007 to include random testing of liquids being carried in the see through bags. It is further reported that as from 1st September 2007 the rate of random testing of such liquids is to be increased.

Surely this is likely to lead to even more chaos.

Has anyone seen anthing further on this from the DoT including what is the reason for this step?

I heard that security staff are having to go on a "liquids" course to enable them to identify hazardous substances!:\

it's DT driven, and TGWU are refusing to co-operate, so looks like fun and games ahead

Good,

Security staff will have much more reasons to carry a miserable face after they start tasting some of the liquids.

Pity the muppets haven't got anything better to do. I think its about time I started carrying a "sample" bottle with me, just so that I might have the pleasure of watching them test that.
