Hi,

I need some actual airlines MEL's answers here.I'm trying to find out what's the minimum requirement for a VHF radio in IFR/VFR.Is it one or needs both to be able to dispatch.Specifically, I'm interested in the FAA point of view.If you can send me to the right source and/or give your own airline MEL philosophy that would be great.
Thanks a lot!!

hello there
per MEL (VHF communications) with only one communication system appropriate to the route to be flown is operative, the flight is rescrited to Visual flight rules,(VHF),no IFR fligh plans.IFR operations requires two communications systems appropriate to the route to be flown.
also refer to FAR 91.185
hope this will help
