happy ending

I am about to buy a rotax 912ULS. Will a variable pitch prop extend the range significantly or would the same result come from the prop being set in the cruise pitch and sacrifice the a bit of take off performance?

Happy ending,
What aircraft? If the speed range is large you will defiantly get an advantage. I have just changed from a ground adjustable to a Constant Speed Control (CSC1) with a PV50 prop on an MCR01. Drop me a pm if you want more as I had a good look round before I made the jump..
