Hi,

I recently went LHR LAX and SFO to Aukland on 2 seperate B777. I was curious why the route from LHR -> SFO went via Iceland and Greenland. But the pacific route was direct, what is the current rule regarding extended twin engine opps over water?

Where are the aircon pack on the B777 on one flight my companion and I were both rather chilly.

The return was via Hong Kong and saw a bit of turbulance, and saw a one pont 2 sets of turning moments on the wing. I was wondering how far could a B747 wing bend in normal events?

I had to smile when one passenger thought she was on an Airbus!!

The shortest (great circle) route between London and San Francisco goes over Greenland, and just to the south of Iceland. However, flights often route slightly further north over Iceland to avoid stronger winds to the south.
I'm sorry but I don't understand your questions about turning moments. The 747 wing will bend much further than will ever be induced by turbulence.
