Spotted this intriguing looking airplane at San Diego's Gillespie Field on Local Live...

Link... (http://local.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=pg305c57jvhs&style=o&lvl=2&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=6202245)

It's the swept wing jobbie, apparently sitting in a compound at the centre of the view.

Is it real? If so, what is it...? (And I wish I'd noticed it when I was there for a trip in a PA-28 in 2000!)

Cheers

Given the paraphenalia around it, my guess is it is some sort of film prop.

It seems to be on a raised scaffold platform and that could be a film catering vehicle or Winebago for actors parked to the side.

Can't imagine the aeroplane would actually be able to fly!

film prop or a gate guardian type of thing, that has had its wings trimmed for space constraints.

The Trident parked at MAN's viewing park also has stubby wings, cut back by BA apprentices some years back. If it ain't gonna fly again, then it might be taking up space.
