Hi all,
Apologies - this is, i suppose, a military based question - however i thought I'd most likely get an answer in here...

I read in the daily torygraph today about the tamil tigers using a light aircraft as a bomber ...pics here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/graphics/2007/03/26/tamil/t5.jpg

was just wondering if anyone could identify the aircraft for me? - Im impressed that a so-called 'light aircraft' can carry a couple of bombs successfully!

Thanks all,
GW

More than one of the Tiger aircraft is believed to be a Czech-made Z-143 two-seater training light aircraft...................

Definitely a 143 and not at all unusual that it can be adapted for military use. At the collapse of the Soviet Union, Moravan had a hangar full of Z-137s fitted with underwing hard points.

By the way, the 143 is a 4-seater (look at the photo) it's the 242 that's a 2-seater

At the collapse of the Soviet Union, Moravan had a hangar full of Z-137s fitted with underwing hard points. What makes you say that? And what is Z-137? An enhanced Z-37?
