AH have been subcontracted by Boeing to provide SAR and Loadmaster training pilots on 2 x B412 at Oakey Army Aviation Centre. AH have advertised for pilots a couple of weeks ago: Want only 1500hours rotary, 250 hours ME and 150 hours IF but no mention of night or NVG?? Seems low experience level for SAR and Training to Army?


Any one know what sort of pay and conditions can be expected working for AH as sub-contractors to Boeing for support to the Military??

If you consider the kiowa instructor pilots at Oakey who are employees of boeing have had there wage increased to $120,000 flying circuits with occasional navex and AH are offering less than $100,000 (more like 85,000) for twin captains at Oakey it would suggest that the low hour pilots will be the only ones that will apply

Finding suitable pilots is the easy part; finding 2 helicopters will be the real challenge. And if you can find the helicopters, and knowing the 412 always presents engineering "surprises" on close inspection, to get them up to the required maintenance standard and equipment level usually takes considerable effort.

Any AH ME / IFR pilots prepared to say what the company pays its ME/IR line pilots (gross / yr) + leave entitlements + super (9% industry base or better) + loss of licence, etc???

Be honest about it....and no I'm not another employer snooping!!

I understand that this is the current (until replaced) Certified agreement for AH pilots. It was ratified in 2002.

This document does not include any CPI increases etc that may have taken place since that date.

Or, you could be bold and tell them what you will do if for $$$.

I heard today that CHC Aus are paying their onshore EMS ME IR line pilots 100K+

I think I'll give AH the miss!

That's about the market rate. Equal time touring pilots to PNG are on about that, or slightly more.

In consideration of my duty to the forum I applied for the AH B412 job(s) but they must have been onto me as a pprune operative because I got the "we'll be in contact if there's any requirement" i.e. a polite no thanks.

Been out in the sticks for a while now and I must say the more things change the more they stay the same! Australian Helicopters are still copping it...an awful lot of mud on these guys and it seems to be sticking so there must be some truth to it.

Gullibell...just remember an age ol adage...beggers cannot be choosers. Last I heard these guys were down to a full-time 412 driver plus a casual and now they need more 412 drivers for another gig??? Good luck for anything with them. Like I said before I am just glad I got out of the scene in Oz a while ago and am thoroughly enjoying my time abroad earning great money working with great guys for several great companies. As happy as the proverbial pig in mud I must say.

The way things are and the way they are going, times are changing and money talks and bullcrap walks...you know the end effect.
