Got this from another site:

Dubai International Airport was closed for eight hours today after a Cathay Pacific 747-300 cargo freighter burst a tire upon landing. This came just before a Bangladesh jet lost its nose wheel while attempting to take off. The remains of the tire were reportedly on the runway after the Cathay plane completed its landing. The incident occurred “prior to the Biman SAS A310 losing its nose wheel as it attempted takeoff,” injuring 14 people and causing the eight-hour closure.

I hope no one will be sacked over this.

From what I have been able to find out a tire carcass was the cause of the Biman SAS A310 losing its nose wheel. No CX aircraft lost a tire carcass in Dubai yesterday. We did have three aircraft stuck on the ground due to the airport closure which according to what I have been able to find out was closer to twelve hours, not eight as reported on the media.
