Hi I have been emailing sigmar.

Very friendly and easy to get on with, just in the process of filling out a very VERY long form.

Looks good from the video and site.

I like the idea that Cityjet are involved and that there is a job at the end of it on passing JAA's.

Anyone else actually gone down to South Africa with sigmar?

Thanks for the smart reply.

But I was actually looking for replies from people who are currently studying in Port Alfred under this mentor scheme.

Yes, Cityjet have had problems with pilots etc BUT so have Ryanair, Aerlingus and god knows how other many airlines in the British Isles!

In fairness, Id work for the devil if it meant that Id be flying and the 100,000k investment I borrow from the bank needs to get paid off some how!

I think SOME pilots today get complacent and forget that an airline is a business.

Now sorry for shrouding this thread and back to the topic...

Anyone been down in Port Alfred want to share experiences?

Anyway, either way it looks like Ive made my decision on where I'll be studying, just going to have another gander at the college next week!

It wasn't meant to be a smart reply. Rather I wanted to help you make an informed decision on all aspects of your training. As you can see from the thread, there is a certain amount of upheaval in Cityjet at the moment. If you wish to bury your head in the sand and ignore what is going on, that's fine. I was just trying to make you aware of the current situation at the airline, particularly because i was considering the program but for several reasons, including the current unease at the airline i decided to go down a different route. I understand that certain people would sell their granny to get into the RHS and perhaps i am somewhat naive to think that i can choose an airline i don't want to work for but i would hope to be treated with some bit of dignity once i become a f/o
