XI Sqn's entry (http://www.raf.mod.uk/structure/11squadron.cfm) on the RAF Website states that the sqn will Will stand up on 29 Mar 07 as the lead multi-role Typhoon Squadron.
Some questions then:
If the sqn will be multi-role, why is it listed under the air defence and airborne early warning section (http://www.raf.mod.uk/structure/airborneearly.cfm) of the RAF Website?
When the Typhoon F2 (http://www.raf.mod.uk/equipment/typhooneurofighter.cfm) is multi-role:
Will it need to change its type designator from F2 - could we see a return of an FGR into the orbat?
Will the RAF website stop listing it as a defensive aircraft (alongside Sentry and Tornado F3?
Dull I know, but it is a grey afternoon.

Are we talking simple dumb bomb seperation trials here or full PGM seperation/testing and completed trials?

Because there is a difference...

did i read something about Typhhons first op deployment being later on this year - to MPA - precisely because of its swing-role capability?

Further down the website, under 'History' it says:

XI Squadron will stand up at RAF Coningsby on 29 Mar 07 as the second frontline Typhoon squadron to form. As multi-role lead squadron, it will spearhead the development of Typhoon’s air-to-surface capability, which will be ready for deployed operations by mid-08.

That amplifies things a little.

Mind you, it also says that the Squadron's time with the Lightning, 1967 to 1988, totalled 17 years!

As I said, Typhoon has released A/S stores. Simply that.
You're not being pedantic, just presumptuous! ;-)
