Way back in the mists of time I wrote a letter to Air Clues when someone queried how an Allison engine on the C130K obtained the extra air when rotating at a constant speed. It was in 1971/72 when I was a simulator examiner at L*****m.

Does anyone put there have any idea how I might track down a copy of the relevant magazine?

Thanks in [email protected].

Contact the Air Historical Branch at RAF Bentley Priory or contact SO 3 Pubs at the Defence Aviation Safety Centre, either should (time permiting) be able to help.

If no success with either of the above suggestions you may wish to give the library at the Joint Services Command and Staff College at Shrivenham a call. Their details are here (http://www.defac.ac.uk/contact-us). The reference section is quite extensive and goes back years. If they have a copy I'm sure they would be happy to photocopy and send on to you.

Last time I looked (about 8 years ago admittedly) there was a room in Trenchard Hall Library at Cranwell that held every edition of Air Clues and most of the less-frequent Flight Safety magazines.

The RAF Club library has copies of all 1970s Air Clues except '77 and '78
