Just attended my doctors' surgery for the NPPL medical. I took myself, my glasses and the £75 fee. Unfortunately they thought I would be bringing the medical form with me and I thought they would be providing it so no progress was made. Where can I get hold of a copy of the required form? Here's hoping he weather clears up for my next lesson on Monday!

Just read that an ECG is required. Does anyone know of a doctor in the Cambs area who is equipped to do the NPPL medical and has the required ECG equipment? My doctor is willing to do the NPPL medical but I'm not sure that he is even aware that an ECG is required because he hasn't done one of these NPPL medicals before.

I've just started to think about getting back into flying via the NPPL route and had a brief discussion with my doctor.

I must have missed something but could you clarify where it says an ECG is required?

The CAA website states "There is also no requirement to do or record a medical examination, though this is not precluded if you wish to check various health parameters."
Many Thanks

This is for the declaration form:
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/49/SRG_Med-Declaration%20_PPL_Balloon-gyros-Nov_04.pdf
and this for the link for the section at the CAA which explains more about it.
http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?categoryid=49&pagetype=90&pageid=873
And if you do have any medical conditions the link to the section at the DVLA where they get their requirements from
http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/medical/aagv1.pdf
And it's likely that all GPs will have access to an ECG if it is actually required.

HTH! And happy flying :ok:

Might be some more useful info at the NPPL web site here. (http://www.nppl.uk.com/)

Unless something's changed in the last 12 months here's how I got mine:
Downloaded a form from NPPL site
Filled my bit in
Left it at the doc's reception.
Picked it up next day,a mere £15 lighter.
Have since got my Class 2 ( £130,ECG,urine test, eyetest etc)
