A federal court decision that upheld a Texas ban on horsemeat for human dining has thrown the horse-slaughter industry into flux this week, with two airlines saying they won’t transport the meat even as the state's two slaughter plants say operations are “business as usual.”

American Airlines and Delta Air Lines said today that Thursday, jan. 25 they have suspended transport of horsemeat from Texas airports to the overseas markets -- mainly France, Belgium and Japan -- where it is consumed.

There seems to be a blatant double standard here, as airline management in general is the biggest provider of another horse by-product.... :}

One threw one's teddy outta the pram on turnaround at an Italian Airport last week when the caterers delivered crew meals.....two of which contained cured horsemeat!!!:eek:

Called company and said departure would be delayed while I took crew to restaurant for proppa chow......response......new crew meals arrived in 10 mins containing something more appetising!!!!

You can flog a dead horse, but not to the French, Belgians or Japanese.

Or, you can take a horse to slaughter, but you can't take it er... abroad.

I would suggest we call a halter to this one, reigning it in before we are saddled with any more painful puns.
