Quite enjoyed that one, daft as it was!

I recall at the time there was total uproar amongst the "We know nothing but are experts on everything" do-gooders about how utterly insulting it was to courgeous bomber crews and brave German soldiers, until the news cut to a pair of the "offended" parties (one Brit, one German) who then declared how hilarious they found the advert itself and how Miss Pink Dungarees protest on their behalf was even funnier!
"We lived through the war yer know. Takes more than a TV commercial to upset folk like us" :ok:

The Dambusters one just shows why England can never beat Germany in a penalty shoot-out. :{ :{ :{

Cracking ads, good to see the old dambusters one again, it allways raises a laugh.
However though, if somebody can find the "If Carling made Building Sites" advert, then they deserve top marks as that is one certainly hard to beat.

N Joe,

Thanks for pointing my Dyslexia out, you were in there with the speed of an Indesit Missile.... or was that an Exocet Washing Machine?......

Just thought some of you may appreciate this ad, possibly a message in there somewhere?......

Very Good,

Nice to see the Military smoking without being told to move at least 15m from any door/exit that the general public may possibly frequent.
Long story... new rules!

Where can I get a decent copy of the dambusters lampoon? I had one, but have lost it...bugger!

The Germans have a view of the Dambusters' raid that may surprise some Brits.

I visited the Mohne Dam about 25 years ago and found postcards depicting the event for sale in the local tourist office, showing the breached dam and "Le Deluge".

However, a certain RAF helicopter crew were not too popular (in the late 1970s I think) when they flew up towards the dam wall one Sunday afternoon and threw out some black footballs. Having said that, Luftwaffe pilots thought nothing of putting big bangers in cabbages and throwing them at locals off a cruise boat on the MohneSee (1982 NATO Tiger Meet).

Good to see adverts from a time where they were funny.

When I find the git who discovered that annoying ads are just as memorable and a lot cheaper to produce, I will take them round the back and have a succint discussion:} :} :}
