Out for walk today up on hills in the Minehead area wonderful views, however severe thirst attack!. Upon leaving the lion public house at Timberscombe (approx 4 miles inland from Porlock} somewhat amazed to see a hunter rattling down the valley what a wonderful sight & sound this was at about 14.45 hrs.I have spoken with my father this evening & he tells me a hunter departed Bournemouth (Hurn) "just after 2" ,said hunter appeared to have attatchments to 4 underwing stations is this anything to do with FR Aviation or was it a preserved aircraft? It would be nice to see this wonderful aircraft in our local airspace more often.Any information would be appreceiated. spelling mishtakes cider induced:uhoh:

Hunter Flying Ltd, based at Exeter have several Hunters of various marks and colour schemes. Possibly one of theirs?

This will be one of the 2 Ex-Swiss ones that are now operating with FR on an MOD contract, I guess.

Cant be that many around these days.

Apparently they are back on the UK mil register.

They most certainly are, ZZ190 and ZZ191. Both are being used on the military register by FRA at Bournemouth but are leased to them by Hawker Hunter Aviation.

It was indeed a Hunter from FRA. It came screaming over my place before it got to Minehead.
Was using the callsign from its former place.... "Scampton 30" and did a circuit at Yeovilton before he went back to Bournemouth.
