Why should you be awarded a flying bursary?....

Hi all,

Does anyone have any pointers as to what organisations are looking for when they ask...'Why should you be awarded a flying bursary?'

In the process of applying for a couple of bursaries. It probably carries more weight than the rest of the application but not sure which angle to approach this question from.

Any top tips from people who have had succesful applications before?

Well, that's a tough one. In my humble opinion, I'd say that organisations who donate bursaries and scholarships are looking for genuinely motivated and committed students, who will use the lessons/money to their full potential. If you can demonstrate that you are willing to do so, and are doing all that you can to raise the money required to pursue your goals (but are sadly a little short), then you should be in good stead.

The bursaries and scholarships should really be part of a structured career plan, or enable you to complete a specific qualification that can be explained and costed.
