To all former 100 Sqn personnel,

100 Sqn is celebrating it's 90th anniversary this year. Accordingly, all former serving personnel are invited to join us for our celebrations on 23 Jun 07 here at Leeming. If you have been part of 'The Ton' and would like to find out what we are planning then please visit either the 100 Sqn Assoc homepage (http://www.100squadronassociation.org.uk/ (http://www.100squadronassociation.org.uk/)) or PM me. Additionally, I'd be interested in any stories, pics or footage from yesteryear.

(Please Mr Moderator forgive my blatant plug but PPrune does now appear as a link on the RAF Homepage!)

Yours,

Jolly Rog

wow400 if scalding hot coffee was the worse thing close to hand you should probably think yourself lucky - we have all had to drink worse :-). Sorry about your scalded mouth though.

Ahhhh the ton, happy days. Too bad I cant make the reunion. Best wishes to all especially from the 2-man slow jet (too slow man jet?) era.

About time we met up again in London isnt it?

"The Ton"?

Please, please, it's "Tatty Ton". Always has been and always will.

Did a tour on 'tatty ton' 87-89.

Wonderful 2 years in Cyprus, up at Kinloss, Macrahanish and down at St Mawgan. Oh and a bit of time at home at Wyton now and again. Happy Days!

Think I still have some pictures of the ton at Macrahanish with the biggest dayglo skull and crossbones ever seen.

Just completed another tour at Wyton. A very different place today.

Unfortunately can't make the party due to a calling to the South Atlantic but I hope the occasion is fittingly celebrated. I'm sure it will be.

Best wishes to all tatty ton members past and present:ok:.

Double Hush - I actually typed Tatty Ton then deleted the Tatty part for fear of being flamed - also thought that it was what 360 used to call us and therefore wholly inappropriate.

Gentlemen,

The only thing that will be 'tatty' for the 90th will be the beer... 'tatty Ton' will be available at a quid a pint, specially brewed by one of the fine local ale houses...! Please come and imbibe, bring your own tankards..!

funflier44 - exactly the same time as me.

Looking at your profile and seeing when you started flying:

23 Sep 65 Chipmunk WB567 South Cerney
24 Nov 65 JP3 XM358 Elvington

places you in a certain age group :)

That narrows it down a bit

Spectre 150,

You're (probably) right about it being a 360 thing but it's stuck. I recall OC 100 Sqn's parking slot outside the mess at Wyton being relabeled "OC Tatty Ton" in the late 80s.

Most of the 'the Ton' is back from Cyprus. This Friday is our 90th birthday and we will be celebrating with a small Sqn knees-up in the Mess remembering our fallen heroes. The Sqn has a fine and distinguished history but a special toast will be made in order to remember the 593 aircrew lost in 113 Lancasters during the Main Force Bomber Offensive of WW2. To all former Sqn personnel...

Ekaton Sminos and happy landings...
