How can we expect the press to report accurately on RAF equipment and capability when the new air force website can't manage it:ugh: :

According to the site the Nimrod MR2 has a crew of 0, a top speed of 360kts and a ceiling of 44,000'. Things have changed a bit since I left the fleet!:rolleyes:

It's correct, actually. They just released the revised stats a bit early by accident. Should've been released post-budget.
'Crew: 0' refers to available trained crew after cuts.
The speed is now capped at 360 to save fuel costs. They're gonna be fitted with those 'LIMITED TO 360 - HOW'S MY FLYING?' stickers in due course too.
The new altitude is 44,000ft - air's thinner up there. See fuel saving policy.
Stingray weaponry refers to the 1960s sci-fi sub. Ever see them fcuk up? No. A few close shaves, but 100% track record and consdierably cheaper than other armament options.
So get your facts straight before you post next time.

Stingray weaponry refers to the 1960s sci-fi sub. Ever see them fcuk up? No. A few close shaves, but 100% track record and consdierably cheaper than other armament options.

"Jaguar GR3/GR3A (no longer is service May 2007)"
so why bother listing it?

We also appear to have a full complement of C-130J.
The RAF has a total of 25 C-130J C4/C5 aircraft. The C4 is almost the same size as the current C3 aircraft, but with a slightly shorter fuselage, while the C5 is the same size as the C1.
