I'm doing some background research on SAR capabilities in Brazil, and am handicapped by my lack of Portuguese.

Does anyone have any knowledge of Brazil's offshore SAR capability, and which agency provides it? A pointer to a link would be much appreciated (in English please). I've spent quite some time Googling to no avail.

Thanks!

Thanks. I picked up on the Navy SAR capability, but considering the number of helicopters they seem to have and the size of there assigned SAR region it didn't seem possible that they could cover it all.

Appreciate the response.

Sorry, too tempting.

Almost like the UK, are the Brazilian SAR assets going to be shaved far enough to be still visible, but too far to be still useful ?

skiddriver,
Master Ppruner "geoffersincornwall" has got a lot of very useful current knowledge of offshore Brazilian helicopter operations. Perhaps try a PM to him.
