Hi folks

Would somebody know if familiarity with ICAO recommended practices is required for passing the written ATPL exam? Or, to put it the other way around, is knowledge of the standards enough? Regrettably the learning objectives stated by the JAA remain unclear.

Best regards,

If someone's expecting you to demonstrate knowledge of SARPs, then they might politely ask ICAO to publish the blessed things online rather than charging extortionate amounts of money for them in hard or soft copy.

That ICAO, being the organisation it is, refuses to publich its documents freely, is a disgrace.
