View Full Version : Mandala B737 skidded off runway Oakhampton 18th Dec 2006, 09:12 Anyone know any info? Incident last night or this morning? readywhenreaching 19th Dec 2006, 17:16 happened at Malang on monday afternoon. JP says the 727-200 (??) skidded of the rwy in heavy rainfall after about 1000 m nearly hitting a tree before it came to a stop. Air Force personnel "sealed off" the accident site from arriving journalists... Isnt Mandala a semi-military controlled company ? Just look at the national safety records over the last 3 years, incl Mandala's crash on t/o at Medan not so long back. Phewwww! rmac 25th Dec 2006, 05:43 Almost as good as Lion a couple of years ago at Pekanbaru, had already rotated 737, captain changes his mind, puts it back on the runway, and then straight off the end ! I stopped flying Singapore-Pekanbaru with Lion after that, as with this incident they sort of confirmed what had been in the back of my mind on previous flights :uhoh: jetjockey696 25th Dec 2006, 06:14 happened at Malang on monday afternoon.
