Hi im travelling to orlando on the 1st of jan with Virgin (VS027). My flight is not until 11:15am however check in closes at 8:15am. I will be arriving into gatwick hopefully at 7:45am on a ba connecting flight from newcastle. If i am to check in online the latest i can drop off my bags & get boarding passess etc is 60mins before the flight. Does this sound correct?
Anyone got any advice or recomendations?

Check-in closing three hours before the flight? I don't think so! More like "check-in opens at 8.15 am". The Virgin FAQ (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/passengerinformation/index.jsp) page says: Our check in facilities close 60 minutes prior to the scheduled departure times of our flights.

Ok ok keep your hair on buddy. So if i check in online before my connecting flight i can arrive at gatwick at the most 60 mins before my scheduled departure to the usa.
