Does anyone fancy having a go at a CPL sample w+b question. I can't seem to get the model answer for this one, however hard I try. (Those in Aus might recognise this from the Ops, Perf and Planning AFT study guide).

You'll need a B206L-1 Long Ranger II manual (or the CASA CPL(H) extract equivalent).

And, as they used to say at school, please show your working!

Fuel on take off = full tanks
Fuel burn off = 300 litres
ZFW = 1397.3 kg
Moment = 45027.0 mm-kg/100

What is the minimum weight that must be moved from Row2 and re-secured at Row1, to ensure that C of G remains within limits for the entire flight?

play with this perhaps?

m/M=d/D
you need to find m

ie m=M*d/D

You need to work out 4 points on your chart:

Full fuel
Zero fuel weight
Most forward fuel
Most aft fuel

This question would be designed to fall out of the chart at either most forward or most aft. See what your moment is at the critical point, work out the difference in moment, divide it by the arm for row 2 and there is your weight to be moved.:ok:

But to check things, re-do the calculation with the new weight in row 1.:D
