I don't know if such a rule or organisation comparable to the CAA existed in Rio in the 1960's. However this Helicopter Pilot certainly doesn't care. Some extraordinary flying is shown in this video (I think it is from a 60's movie). Any unseen telephone or tram wires that exist in so many european cities would have been disastrous.

Enjoy:

The whole thing is carefully filmed in a number of takes and he had done a close recce of the route beforehand. This is no impromptu beat-up.

Good, isn't it? It has the qualities of a flying dream.

Enjoyable video - but probably only a fraction as enjoyable as flying the helicopter must have been. :)

I've copied the post to Rotorheads.

No registration is required but you will need Flash installed on your computer. Almost everyone does these days. If you haven't go here:

Wow!
I think I glimpsed the girl from Ipanema on the Copa Cabana!

and all with no seatbelt or doors on! he's getting his rocks off hanging out of the door waving to people - what would the HSE say?

Do you think Ken Livingstone would permit a London flyby like this?
